Our film, Projecting the Past, is being screened tonight to an invited audience and we are getting everything ready to show all the work we’ve done. There will be a full report tomorrow, and we hope to be on BBC Look East soon too.  But here’s the cinema looking at its best…

What the cinema used to show…

Tonight  Sawston Film Club is  showing The Duchess at the cinema,but we thought it would be interesting to show you what was being screened fifty years ago, in December 1958. Here’s the programme, kindly shared with us: We’ll be putting more programmes and other material up in the Cinema History section of the site.

Animation

Animation has been around since filming began. Firstly you have an idea, then you make your characters (e.g. clay toys) and set. Secondly you will need an animation programme and a camera to shoot with. In our project we have done animation about memories of people who live in Sawston.
