Peter Harmer
A little about Pete, our filmmaker:
I graduated in Digital Screen Arts from the Surrey Institute of Art in 2004 and now live and work in Cambridge as a freelance filmmaker.
I work within a range of areas including short film, documentary and music videos. Within the corporate arena I’ve made films for clients including Siemens and Proctor and Gamble and am soon to start working on an internal video training programme with Microsoft.
I’ve always been passionate about filmmaking and through my organisation ‘Stories’ I love to share this passion with others. ‘Stories’ specialises in fun and professional youth-based filmmaking projects and its been great to see so much talent and enthusiasm for filmmaking evident in Sawston.
Other recent Stories projects have included: music videos with young carers in Ilford, an intergenerational documentary with young people in Norwich and an award winning comedy drama on the subject of climate change with Viva Youth Theatre in Soham.
To date I have established relationships with a number of outside organisations that benefit from my experience as a filmmaking tutor; these organisations include the Cambridgeshire Film Consortium, Momentum Arts, The Fishing Rod Experience, London and The Garage in Norwich.
