FIRST LIGHT MOVIES at Sawston Cinema Club: Week 2, 24^th September 09

We’re continuing to develop our ideas and this week began to put them down on paper, making notes. People were coming up with really good suggestions, and I think we have the potential to make a gritty, hard-hitting and edgy drama.

School of Lego

We’ve had lots of good ideas from the beginning of this project and, as some of us already know how to do animation, we’re very keen to get on with it. We are, however, a bit daunted when we think about how long we have to make the film as it seems quite a lot to achieve in a short time. Some new people joined our group this week. We looked at different responsibilities – for animation and for sound recording – and discussed who might take on what. There’s a lot to organise and we need to be sure we get it right.

Mysterinema

We’re having great fun and are pleased we joined this project group. We try to be well organised and spent some time in this session picking our roles within production and having a lot of discussion about this. Everyone wants to play Danny! We all want to be the leading character! We made everybody within the group that wanted to be the leading character do a small audition this week. Everyone found it really tricky to decide who might play the main character. I think we’re all budding actors. So, maybe we need to have more than one actor. There could be friends that go through the screen together. Then there would be another actor to meet them in the different genres who would be their guide. Maybe this actor would be stuck in the other dimension or stay there because he likes it.
